MEMORIAL DONATION RECEIVED FOR CATCH AND RELEASE SIGNS
by Ann BeaverIn January, CLA received a very generous memorial from Morraine Norden of $1,000 in memory of her husband, Lowell, who died in 2001. The Nordens have owned their cabin and property on the north shore of Lower Cullen Lake since 1958.
Morraine¹s memorial donation has been used to fund the Catch and Release signs which were placed at the Lower Cullen Lake and Middle Cullen Lake public accesses. A small plate is attached to each sign stating it was funded by a memorial donation for Lowell Norden (who, by the way, was an avid fisherman).
As president of CLA, I would like to thank Morraine on behalf of the entire membership of the lake association.
The signs were installed on April 29 by Charlie Boudrye and Lou Larson. In addition to a clam shell post hole digger, an ice chisel was needed at both locations to break through frozen sand 18 inches below the surface.
