- Remove any trace of plants and animals from your boat, trailer, and other boating equipment before leaving any body of water.
- Drain water from the motor, livewell, bilge and transom wells at the ramp or access before leaving any body of water.
- Dispose of unwanted live bait on land. Never release live bait into water. Never release live aquatic animals into a different body of water than they were acquired.
- Wash your boat, motor and trailer to kill harmfull exotic animal species that were not visible at the boat launch with hot water or spray off with hot high pressure water at a self-service car wash. If that is not practical, dry your boat and all equipment for no less than five days to kill these pests.
