All jurisdictions were contacted late
in September for information on the status of individual sewage
treatment
systems (ISTSs) found to be failing during the 2002 compliance
inspections. At this time, all but 1.5 ISTSs have been brought into
compliance.
The .5 refers to a privy on a property that also has a compliant septic
system. The property owner has not responded to multiple letters
from Nisswa Planning and Zoning.
In the other case, the property owner challenged the results of the
inspection. The Pequot Lakes City Attorney is working on
resolution of the situation.
